Who the devil are we?
We are Jeni Fender & Mark Curtis. Together we established Made in Dunster with our young family in December 2013. We both love design and making stuff, and are particularly inspired by nature, colour and graphic shapes.
Jeni makes most of the products in the shop - particularly the cards, oilcloth bags, cushions, jewellery, hand thrown pottery and Christmas decorations. Mark makes the lampshades and also helps on cards and oilcloth bags. In 2017 have extended our range, Jeni has recently gotten back into pottery in a big way and is going to try some lino cutting, hand rollered fabric and marbling, and Mark is going to make wall stickers.
You might have known us as Made in East Dulwich, and Jeni used to sell in East Dulwich markets and still goes back to Herne Hill market once a month.
We are passionate about our new home in the medieval village of Dunster, set in the foothills of Exmoor National Park. We are keen supporters of Dunster Museum and Dunster Packhorse Playground. Jeni is Chair of the Dunster Tourism Forum and runs the Discover Dunster website. Jeni is also a keen amateur archaeologist and Acting Chair of the Dunster Museum Archaeology Group and is working with Time Team Dig VIllage and local volunteers to explore Dunster's Medieval past.
